StockX Sneaker Report: Mizuno's Rise & What to Expect in 2026 (2026)

In a fascinating turn of events, StockX has unveiled its seventh annual report, the "Big Facts: Current Cultural Index," highlighting Mizuno as the fastest expanding sneaker brand for 2025. Can you believe that Mizuno has seen an incredible 124% surge in trades compared to the previous year? This remarkable growth positions them at the forefront of the resale market. Following closely behind is Mihara Yasuhiro, renowned for its distinctive sneakers featuring chunky and warped soles, achieving a substantial growth rate of 91%. The top five list is rounded out by Saucony, experiencing a 59% increase, Salomon at 58%, and 361 with a solid 50% rise.

When it comes to overall trading volume, Nike continues to hold the crown, trailed by its subsidiary, Jordan Brand. Adidas secures the third position, while New Balance and Asics take the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

StockX's CEO, Greg Schwartz, noted in a press release that the year 2025 was not dominated by a singular trend or category but was instead influenced by various standout releases. "Our data indicates that brands which acted swiftly, embraced innovation, and partnered wisely saw significant rewards. Nearly 200 brands achieved record annual sales on StockX last year, ranging from well-established names to emerging independent labels. Looking towards 2026 and beyond, the brands that will thrive are those that grasp concepts of scarcity, storytelling, and community—not just size and scale," Schwartz expressed.

In a broader context beyond sneakers, Ugg emerged as the leading footwear brand, followed by Adidas, Crocs, Nike, and Timberland. Among non-sneaker footwear, Nike's ReactX Rejuven8 model stood out as particularly noteworthy, facilitating tens of thousands of trades in 2025.

Remarkably, within the non-sneaker category, Nike experienced explosive growth, skyrocketing by an astounding 5,811%. Bravest Studios followed, but their growth at 197% pales in comparison to Nike's staggering leap.

Looking ahead to 2026, StockX anticipates a significant year for sneakers inspired by soccer, especially with the World Cup on the horizon. Additionally, Bad Bunny's collaboration with Adidas is expected to gain traction thanks to his upcoming Super Bowl performance and the launch of his first signature sneaker. Furthermore, StockX predicts that Nike will continue to build on its momentum from 2025, as the company works towards achieving its anticipated sales turnaround. Meanwhile, Jordan Brand is expected to perform well by strategically limiting the supply of its most sought-after models.
